VanderHorn ArchitectsVanderHorn Architects, an award-winning Greenwich, CT architecture firm specializing in the finest quality residential design, seeks a highly-qualified and experienced full-time Interiors Architect. The Interiors Architect will be the office specialist in the design and detailing of interior mouldings, millwork, and related finishes, tasked with elevating the firm’s interiors to the highest level.
Job Responsibilities:
- Serve as the office “go-to” person for solving interior design challenges, through the creation of well-researched studies with multiple options where necessary.
- Synthesizing the interior scope requirements of the firm principal, senior staff, clients, and their decorator/interior designer, into compelling, thorough, fully-coordinated, and buildable designs.
- Assist clients with additional “Interior Design” scopes where a separate decorator/interior designer has not been hired.
- Oversees the work of assisting junior staff.
Key Skills:
- A demonstrated history of designing appropriate interiors with limited oversight.
- A strong knowledge in designing traditional interiors is essential, and a willingness to work in non-traditional styles is preferred.
- An understanding of traditional residential construction techniques, and building codes thereof, is preferred.
- A working knowledge of M/E/P fittings, decorative finishes, and furnishings is a plus.
- A college degree in architecture, interior design, or a related field is required.
- Top-tier graphics, presentation, communications, and time-management skills are required. A professional, respectful, and respectable demeanor is absolutely essential.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD is preferred. Proficiency in 3D modeling software, and/or traditional hand-drawn sketches and renderings, is required.
Must currently live within 40 miles of Greenwich, CT. This is an in-office position, with the option of working from home on Fridays.
