Safdie ArchitectsSafdie Architects is seeking intermediate architects / designers (5-10+ years’ experience) with exceptional design, communication, and interpersonal skills to join their design practice.
Intermediate architects / designers work directly with Senior Designers and the firm’s Principals to develop design concepts and architectural ideas and share in the responsibility for organizing and coordinating the efforts of all members of the design team (including outside consultant team members). Given the diversity of the firm’s projects, with regards to project type, scale and geographic location, intermediate architects / designers need to be extremely nimble and comfortable working within such diversity.
The ideal candidate will be able to effectively lead teams of junior architects, have demonstrated experience developing and maintaining communication within the team and its consultants and have experience with the design and detailing of complex projects. In addition, candidates need to be keen on being involved directly in the production of design studies, presentations and drawings.
Qualifications:
- Skills in the production of concept, schematic and design development documents
- Experience with large scale, programmatically complex public and private projects
- Strong technical knowledge of both rational and complex geometries
- Demonstrated design sensibility
- An investigative nature and superior problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in REVIT required
- Expertise in AutoCAD, Rhino, Adobe Suite and rendering software preferred
- Experience with coordinating engineering consultants and collaborators preferred
- All applicants must have the authorization to work within the United States
Candidates must be highly motivated, have the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and possess a willingness to assume both project-wide and office-related responsibility. Aside from involvement on the architectural projects – designers will have the opportunity to work on research driven efforts and assist with publications and exhibitions. This is a full time – in studio position.
