Construction Administrator/Assistant Project Manager

ROART is a multidisciplinary Architecture and Construction Management firm who specializes in Design/Build projects, located in Chelsea, NYC. At ROART we maintain a well-balanced work environment in a fast paced but positive, highly collaborative office.  We are looking for someone to join our Architecture and Construction Management Team in the role of an Assistant Project Manager for Construction Administration.

The Assistant Project Manager will split their time between the field and the office while being involved with the daily management, contracting, scheduling, bidding, and construction administration functions for the successful completion of the project(s).

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general administrative duties, including administrative support to Project Managers such as management of meeting minutes, drawing logs, and change orders plus the distribution and management of certificates of insurance and lien waivers
  • Support Project Managers in preparation of project timelines and deliverables when needed
  • Assemble and track bids for trade procurement
  • Tracking of all agreements including Trade Agreements, Subcontractor Agreements
  • Support Site Supervisor with purchasing of construction materials and manage purchasing logs
  • Track NYC DOB filings, permits & inspection logs
  • Manage and track project punch lists and sign offs

Key Requirements

  • A highly organized individual with a willingness to learn and manage a variety of tasks accurately
  • A strong communicator who can effectively share information, receive, and respond independently to input and direction
  • Ability to read and navigate construction documents, specifications, shop drawings
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture or Engineering or experience in related industry equivalent to a 4-year degree.
  • 2-3 years in related experience in Design, Architecture, Project Management or Construction
  • Ability to safely navigate conditions present at a construction site
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  • Proficiency with Procore a plus
  • Knowledge of NYC agencies such and NYC DOB, LPC and MTA a plus

·      For individuals pursuing Architectural Licensure, this position will provide relevant experience hours within the AXP/NCARB program.
