John Davies LandscapeJohn Davies Landscape is hiring a landscape architect, garden designer or skilled designer to join its team in London.
We are a small and friendly award-winning studio based in Bloomsbury, a few minutes walk from Kings Cross. We specialise in creating considered, elegant landscapes that respond to both site and brief. Our work ranges from the tiniest micro gardens to large-scale commercial projects. Sharing resources with Erlam Studio, we offer a work experience that is fun, vibrant and supportive.
Your role
You will have at least two years of experience, although in exceptional circumstances a graduate may also be considered. You will contribute to all workflow stages from initial client briefings, through concept and detailed design to full realisation of projects, including plant sourcing and site visits at all stages of build.
You will be creative and highly motivated, with a natural ability to convey ideas visually. You should approach each task with curiosity and consideration and relish taking full responsibility for the delivery of those tasks whilst becoming an integral member of our team.
Essential skills and attributes:
- a degree/MA in landscape architecture or a diploma in garden design. Two to five years post-graduate work experience is preferable although we will consider talented graduates
- proven ability to prepare drawing packages including detailed construction drawings in plan, section and elevation
- high level of ability in Vectorworks, Sketchup, Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.
- ability to manage projects and work closely with clients, consultants, contractors and suppliers
- a flair for sketching by hand
- a passion for outdoor places, with a proven interest in plants and horticultural practice
- excellent communication and coordination skills with a pro-active attitude to working independently or within a team
- eligibility to work in the UK and possession of relevant visas
Salary: negotiable, dependent on experience. The role is full-time for John Davies Landscape.
