The Position:
We seek a smart, enthusiastic, intellectually curious, responsible, and committed individual to assist teams during all phases of work at MKThink. The candidate must be self-motivated, an inquisitive person with excellent time management and organizational skills is needed. This position is full-time, with full benefits, and based in our San Francisco office on the beautiful Great Highway with spectacular ocean views.

Key Responsibilities:

Urban Design: Develop comprehensive urban plans, zoning regulations, and land use proposals. Integrate sustainable practices into urban design and planning projects.
Conceptual Drawings & Renderings: Create detailed drawings, renderings, and visualizations to illustrate proposed urban layouts, streetscapes, parks, and other public spaces. Ensure designs are visually appealing, functional, and adhere to project requirements.
Site Analysis & Research: Conduct site analysis and research to assess land use, zoning regulations, environmental impact, and community needs. Use this data to inform planning and design decisions
Collaboration: Work closely with architects, engineers, landscape architects, and other professionals to ensure cohesive and integrated urban planning solutions.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all planning and design work complies with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies.

The ideal candidate will possess the following abilities:

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Urban Design, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, or a related field
3-5 years of experience in urban planning or a related field with US firms

SKILLS:

Strong graphic/visual/design presentation skills
Strong understanding of urban design principles, zoning regulations, and environmental sustainability
Exceptional drawing, sketching, and rendering skills; proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, Revit, Twinmotion, Unreal, etc.)
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas through visual and verbal means
Ability to participate in the development of 3D modeling of projects
Prepare various design communication and presentation materials, including sketches, rendered 2D & 3D drawings, rendered perspectives, slide shows, and material selection boards
Ability to collaborate and participate in team environments
