The University of Applied Arts Vienna has an opening for the position of University Professor (m/f/d) of Architectural Design 1 starting from October 1, 2024, for a fixed period of five years, with the possibility of an extension of the contract beyond the fixed period.
The open position entails leading one of the three design studios at the I oA formerly led by Zaha Hadid, Kazuyo Sejima, and Cristina Diaz Moreno & Efren Garcia Grinda. The studio is characterized by an urban scale approach, examining the complexity of contemporary situations through multi-scalar architectural responses. The relationships between social, technological, climatic, economic challenges, and the built environment are the multiple perspectives through which the studio is seeking a renewed way to address urban conditions, to imagine novel and equitable futures for the many places in which we live together.
