Focus Consultants is seeking a senior project manager to join its team in London.

We employ a talented workforce of 60 people across our offices in Nottingham, London, Leicester and Newark.
Our core services comprise:
- create: funding, business planning, economic development, research and evaluation
- deliver: project management, building surveying, quantity surveying
- assess: sustainability and environment, building physics, compliance, planning support and performance testing
We are looking to recruit a motivated and resourceful senior project manager to be based at our London office in Waterloo to lead in the development and delivery of capital projects. The role will include some travel across London and the South East, and on occasion to elsewhere in the UK.
The ideal candidate will:
- have a strong technical experience of refurbishment/ conversion/ extension/ new build, possibly from a building surveying, quantity surveying, architectural or engineering background
- have a particular focus on driving projects through delivery to practical completion
- have direct experience of public sector projects
- have experience of contract administration (ideally NEC or JCT)
- have experience of working closely with and managing clients, professional teams and contractors
- be competent in preparing reports, both written and financial
- thrive as part of a growing team, helping to mentor junior consultants and apprentices
- be chartered or working towards it e.g. MRICS, MCIOB
We would also be interested in hearing from those that have an interest in switching disciplines within the construction sector to becoming a project manager but with an understanding of project processes.
The role can be undertaken over four or five days per week and will encompass construction/contracts and technical project management.
This will include:
- project concept and brief development
- procurement of consultants and contractors
- chairing management and coordination meetings
- developing and implementing strong programme and financial management and reporting
- directing, monitoring and overseeing the design activity
- undertaking risk management studies and implementing change control procedures
- monitoring and overseeing the construction and handover phases of the project
- contract administration under JCT 2016 and/or NEC3 or 4
