HansonLA is currently seeking a Project Architect with 10+ years’ experience and demonstrated leadership skills to join our growing team. The appropriate candidate will be proactive, self-motivated, and will have the capability to work efficiently within a collaborative studio. This is an advanced position at HansonLA and is responsible for project management and delivery. As a project lead, the PA will effectively move projects forward, lead the internal team, coordinate with consultants, and develop all items agreed to in the contract.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for various portions of project development in the following phases: Concept Design, Schematic Design, Design Development, and Construction Documents
- Perform code review and work with various governing agencies for code compliance
- Coordinate engineering consultants, clients, and other members of the team for medium to large scale projects
- Assist in supervising project document control tasks and maintain quality control of such tasks
- Lead and assist project teams in preparing construction documents, permit documents, and bidding documents
- Lead Construction Administration tasks including checking shop drawings, samples, and submittals
- Knowledge of major building systems and ability to proactively lead coordination with engineers to maintain design intent and project goals
- Provide coaching and mentorship to support the professional development of junior staff
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills

Requirements
- Completion of five or six-year professional architectural degree program
- 10+ years’ experience in design development, architectural design, documentation, detailing; High-rise residential and Construction Administration experience is a plus
- Ability to think and draw in 3D
- Strong graphic skills and technical capability to critically think through the development of a design and its documentation
- Must be detail-oriented and highly organized
- High level of proficiency in multiple applications including Rhino, AutoCAD, Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite Programs
- Licensed in the state of California is a plus
- LEED certified is a plus
