Makower Architects is seeking a senior project architect to join its team in London.
Candidates must have six to ten years’ post-Part 3 experience delivering multiple large-scale residential projects from detail design to completion. The successful candidate will work across multiple large-scale residential projects in varying stages, from spatial coordination and technical design to construction.
Makower Architects is a culturally-rooted and design-led practice specialising in architecture and urbanism, with numerous high-profile projects in the fields of city-making, place-creation and urban heritage. Our work is largely focused on urban-scaled projects, and we have a passion for both place and history being the source and ‘seed’ of design proposals. We are a vibrant practice based in Bankside, London and integrate a significant housing delivery team within a studio environment where concept design and detailed design are equally valued.
Applicants must have complete proficiency in Revit and demonstrate strong technical and design skills.
The right candidate must meet the following criteria:
- proven experience delivering large-scale residential projects in the UK
- thorough and advanced knowledge of Revit/BIM
- RIBA Stages 3-6 experience
- experience in preparing and delivering tender and construction documentation for large-scale residential projects in the UK
- exceptional technical knowledge and skills
- thorough knowledge of Technical Housing Standards NDSS, London plan and building regulations
- experience working with NHBC and Building Control
- experience in clearing planning conditions (pre-commencement and pre-occupation)
- experience in writing NBS specifications
- intimate knowledge of exterior brick cladding system
- ability to manage workloads and meet tight deadlines
- good spoken and written English is essential
- site attendance experience
Candidates should be confident to:
- manage the day-to-day running of a project
- supervise and mentor a team of four to six people
- liaise with consultants and local authorities
- communicate design issues
- liaise with subcontractors and manufacturers
