One Architecture & UrbanismONE Architecture & Urbanism is actively seeking a Registered Landscape Architect with 8+ years of experience working on public parks, public infrastructure, and open space. We are looking for a self-motivated and versatile landscape architect who is excited about making meaningful contributions in the face of climate change. The right candidate must be passionate about climate action, sustainability, and the design of the public realm.
ONE Architecture &Urbanism is an internationally renowned planning, urban design, and architecture practice specializing in large-scale climate adaptation planning, resilient infrastructure design, and public architecture. Based in New York and Amsterdam, the firm has a unique approach that integrates diverse policy, climate, and urban issues into a design process that allows for bold and inclusive transformations of our environment. For the past decade, ONE has been instrumental in major resilience projects in New York City, across the United States, and in Southeast Asia. This candidate will be joining the Urban Design team in New York City and leading several resilience projects within New York City and the Northeast.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has client, project management, technical experience in the public sector.
- Has experience designing and managing projects from concept through documentation.
- Is passionate about urban design, our streets, and the public realm.
- Is interested in the technical complexity of building infrastructure in a dense urban environment.
- Is a team player and strong communicator who is comfortable designing large projects with small teams.
- Has strong verbal, written, and graphic communication skills.
- Has mentored and trained junior staff and entry-level designers.
- Has ambition to grow in a leadership position.
Minimum Requirements:
- Accredited Degree in Landscape Architecture or Architecture.
- Licensed in the State of New York.
- 8+ years of professional experience.
- Experience in construction documentation.
- Excellent written, verbal, and graphic communication skills.
- Fluency in Autocad, Rhino, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with NYC public agencies.
- Knowledge of low-carbon and sustainable construction approaches.
- Knowledge of Revit and ArcGIS.
- Experience in designing and specifying green infrastructure systems.
Pay & Benefits:
The expected salary range for this position is between $90,000 to $130,000 based on ability and relevant work experience. Benefits are offered immediately from the commencement of employment: including medical, dental, and vision programs; 401(k) plan; commuter benefits; paid holidays including one week of office closure in December and flexible PTO.
