Studio Seilern Architects is seeking a senior architect/BIM coordinator to join the team in London.

Our diverse portfolio of built work spans the UK, Europe, Middle East and Africa.

SSA is seeking a talented architect with BIM experience and a track record in the delivery of residential and commercial projects of varying sizes.

Senior architect requirements:

  • five years’ of post-Part 3 experience in the UK
  • experience with planning in central London
  • advanced understanding of building regulations
  • experience in technical detailing and documentation, (and preferably specification writing)
  • experience in the coordination of structural and MEP
  • ability to demonstrate an understanding of on-site construction, a knowledge of procurement routes and the ability to direct and work within a larger team
  • experience with interior joinery packages and bespoke items detailing
  • confident construction drawing package experience and technical knowledge of building components
  • excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise
  • a high degree of proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is essential such as experience with Adobe Suite; Rhino is an advantage
  • eloquence in both written and spoken English

BIM coordinator requirements:

  • promote industry standards grounded in BS EN ISO19650 suite of standards and with a good understanding of UK BIM Framework guidance documentation
  • adhere to, and continuously improve, our in-house BIM standards and procedures, to keep up with industry and client requirements
  • lead and act on both setup and audit of Revit files on projects to ensure maximum productivity, understanding and maintenance of office standards
  • review contractual agreements relating to BIM and implement legal structures that support a collaborative BIM environment
  • setup and maintain projects in accordance with ISO19650 standards including the formulation and development of project-specific BIM documents including BIM Execution Plans, TIDPs, MIDPs and Responsibility Matrices, Revit model checklist
  • BIM Coordination and daily management of BIM project data sets/workflows, documentation, and project set-up
  • develop project-specific model development strategies, information management risk and communicate progress to the office manager
  • provide assistance to projects with model production and maintenance
  • adhere to, and continuously improve our BIM documentation, Revit templates and BIM library contemn
  • develop and deliver BIM and Revit inductions and training to the project team
  • establish workflows that enable secure and efficient exchanges of information through the Common Data Environment according ISO19650-compliant workflow
  • act as a BIM point of contact facing consultants and client BIM
  • ensure smooth workflow and coordination of Revit models, data transfer and project documentation throughout the duration of the project
  • expert user of AEC collection tools, specifically Revit, AutoCAD and Autodesk Construction Cloud
  • experience and skill in other applications such as Rhino, Dynamo, Navisworks, Enscape
  • in-depth experience managing, producing, and reviewing COBie data scheme
  • perform clash avoidance and produce reports
  • technical management of project BIM data sets
  • experience of working in an architectural environment on projects at all stages of design and delivery
  • highly organised with attention to detail
  • proven experience implementing BIM processes and the delivery of BIM projects
  • confident and collaborative working style, with excellent communication and reporting skills

About you:

  • the successful candidate should have at least five years’ post-Part 3 UK experience, post-Part 3 qualifications and preferably experience on a range of high-end projects
  • you will have excellent organisational skills, a strong attention to detail and a proactive and positive disposition
  • you will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to liaise at all levels and be confident in cultivating relationships
  • you will need to be a practical and strategic thinker who is self-motivated and able to work autonomously
  • the position is full-time, based 5 days in our west London studio; studio hours are 9am-6pm
