Strada, a multi-disciplinary design firm, is seeking a project staffing coordinator in Pittsburgh to serve our three studios located in Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, and Chapel Hill. The ideal candidate has building design service experience in coordinating diverse, multi-disciplined project teams and is someone who loves the challenge of creating smooth workflow and project team member satisfaction. This individual should possess strong communication skills and the ability to develop or use tools to mitigate project process interruptions and delays.

This team member will be tasked with ensuring we have cohesive, enduring teams for projects that meet the skill sets, talents, and capabilities we need for each project’s success. This position also must work to ensure individual team member development by assigning project roles to help them reach their goals and aspirations as design professionals.
This position has significant impact in our ability to deliver services efficiently and with great design success. It requires design insight, respect for team leadership, with the ability to collaborate and work through disparate goals, schedules, and requirements.
The project staffing coordinator will be tasked with engaging with and getting to know our diverse teams’ talents, creating opportunity and skill set matrices for use in helping project team leaders create successful teams, and working with our software tools such as Mosaic to manage staff assignments.
This individual must work with the entire leadership team at Strada as well as our human resources and financial teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Create workflow staffing schedules for Principals, Associates, and Project Managers incorporating project team member roles, tasks, skills, PTO, and learning objectives for all projects and internal initiatives
- Use predictive analytics and other tools to forecast team member availability against work volume to allow effective planning and management of resources
- Implement, develop, and maintain software tools and charts to assist in analyzing staffing on projects and for commitments to firm initiatives, training, and other ongoing activities across all studios
- Assist finance team in creating effective time and cost reporting templates for use by project managers
Requirements, Skills, and Abilities
- Degree in architecture, planning, logistics, supply chain management, or human resource management; a combination of design and logistics degrees and/or experience would be exceptionally desirable
- Excellent problem-solving skills and demonstrated good judgment
- Superb written/verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office suite
- Detail oriented and highly organized, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Ability to work well in a dynamic team environment and to apply collaborative resolutions to challenges
