Position Summary
The Project Planner position will support the Planning Project Manager by preparing analyses, reports, calculations, and maps essential to the successful completion of project tasks and applications. The Project Planner is a critical part of a professional team that is responsible for the successful representation of our clients and their land development projects. The appropriate candidate will have the opportunity to further their professional experience by working on a wide variety of projects and gaining exposure to many facets of the land development process. A successful Project Planner must collaborate and build relationships with other departments at CHW as well as with other members of a project team and local government staff. CHW is seeking a Project Planner that demonstrates a strong commitment to advancing their career by pursuing AICP certification.


Key experience, skills and qualifications
Min. 2+ years of experience in a professional planning environment
Bachelor’s or masters degree in urban and regional planning, urban design, geography, geomatics or other related field of study
Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software
AutoCAD experience preferred
Ability to comprehend and apply Comprehensive Plan and Zoning policies, Special Area Studies, and technical reports related to environmental conditions, geotechnical conditions, site lighting, tree mitigation, etc.
Ability to meet task and project specific deadlines
Ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects at one time
Detail oriented
Ability to prioritize tasks


Planning and business computer applications with working knowledge of the following software and skills:
Environmental Systems Research Incorporated (ESRI) ArcGIS, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Bluebeam, and Adobe software
Strong organizational skills
