Flansburgh Architects is an internationally recognized leader in the planning and design of educational and cultural facilities. We are driven by the belief that the quality of our surroundings has a direct influence on the quality of our lives, whether, on campus, in the workplace, at a performance, or in the public realm. Our interests range from the functional and environmental performance of a building to its physical and cultural context to how spaces and materials are sculpted by natural light. We’re seeking creative architects and designers to immediately join our Boston office.
Flansburgh is seeking a Project Designer with two to four years of professional experience in design for a range of project types across all phases from Planning through Construction Documents. The Project Designer will work closely with Design Principal, advancing the project’s conceptual direction, form, and programmatic arrangement, both independently and in collaboration with the design team. The qualified candidate must be able to engage project criteria, establish and iterate underlying rationales, and develop and communicate design goals to clients, consultants, and the design team. Applicants should have a general knowledge of building systems, sustainability practices, architectural history, and an understanding of appropriate constructability within a project budget. A five-year bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in Architecture and advanced knowledge of drafting and 3-D rendering software (Vectorworks, Cinema4D, Sketchup preferred) are required. Excellent communication and leadership skills are a plus.
