Project Architect / Draftsperson
An established architectural firm is seeking a highly skilled Project Architect / Draftsperson with a minimum of 7 years of experience in developing construction documents for residential and small commercial projects. A graduate degree in architecture is preferred, but we welcome candidates who can demonstrate extensive knowledge of residential building construction. Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential.
We are looking for a candidate available for immediate hire who can seamlessly integrate into our team and hit the ground running.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately and efficiently measure existing site conditions.
- Convert field measurements into precise AutoCAD drawings, ensuring comprehensive documentation of existing conditions.
- Develop detailed construction documents from presentation sketches, including the ability to calculate structural elements using BeamCalc or similar software.
- Create accurate floor plans, building sections, and elevations.
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with clients, engineers, and contractors.
- Conduct construction site visits as needed.
- Handle administrative tasks such as emailing, phone correspondence, digital filing, and organizing project files.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of wood frame construction, structural systems, MEPs (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing), and building codes.
- High proficiency using Auto Cad
- Ability to manage multiple projects, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
