The Architectural League of New YorkThe Architectural League seeks a highly engaged, energetic individual who is deeply interested in architecture and the built environment to serve as Program Manager. As an integral member of the League team, the Program Manager works closely with the Program Director to organize the League’s ambitious programming, including the Current Work lecture series, First Friday studio visits, Emerging Voices and League Prize competitions, and the League’s mentorship and student programs, among others. League programs create stimulating opportunities for the presentation and discussion of significant work; encourage the development of young designers; promote equity and inclusion in architecture; and address critical issues in the built environment.
The Program Manager’s responsibilities center on the planning and production of the League’s annual programs, including researching program participants; coordinating publicity materials and preparing content for the website; managing both online and in-person events; receiving competition submissions and organizing materials for juries; managing payments to program participants; and serving as logistical liaison to program participants, including speakers, firms, schools, and students.
The position requires a well-organized individual who is enthusiastic about working with others and has strong attention to detail. Demonstrated interest and job experience related to architecture and the built environment are required, as are strong interpersonal and writing skills. Ideally, the Program Manager will have experience in both online and in-person event planning and logistics. The Program Manager will be expected to work at League evening events and occasional weekend programs, both online and in-person.
