DEDM is seeking a Planning & Analytics Associate in our New York City office. The role entails a combination of data analysis, market research, and design strategy with a focus on residential new development within New York City and other key U.S. markets. The ideal candidate will support the team in delivering critical insights and guidance to DEDM clients based on timely and accurate market intelligence. This role offers rare exposure to exceptional development professionals, real estate visionaries and participation in the predevelopment of residential and mixed-use new developments.
Responsibilities
- Liaise with Market Research team to update and expand internal Planning & Design database
- Collect and organize property data from a variety of public and proprietary sources
- Perform data analysis and reporting for use in client deliverables
- Identify new opportunities for data-driven products and services
- Monitor industry and competitive landscape to identify emerging trends
- Assist in project programming and space planning (unit mix, demising, floorplan review, etc.)
- Liaise with Marketing and Sales teams in multi-disciplinary, project-related tasks
- Join team members on site visits and meetings to gain instrumental exposure to various disciplines within the development process
Qualifications
- Strong interest in the New York City real estate market; familiarity with residential development
- Working knowledge of real estate and architectural design concepts and terminology
- Ability to work in professional, team-based environment with minimal supervision
- Ability to work simultaneously on multiple projects
- Demonstrated communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability or interest in performing quantitative analysis using Microsoft Excel
- Experience with relational database systems preferred; familiarity with Microsoft Access and/or Tableau a plus
- Ability or interest in space planning and performing plan markups with Bluebeam Revu
- Excellent proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud products (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
- Experience with AutoCAD and Rhino
- Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree in Architecture or Real Estate Development
- Two to three years minimum design experience
- Luxury residential, mixed-use, and/or hospitality experience preferred
