Overview:
Float is a multidisciplinary full-service studio that creates spaces, products, and interior identities for workplaces, commercial spaces, hospitality and retail. Vastly experienced, highly collaborative, and open-minded, they build relationships to their clients through in-depth discovery and considered design direction.
Responsibilities:
- Work with senior interior designer on all phases of design.
- Provide both ad-hoc and project specific support to the interior design team.
- Set up files and organization for new projects
- Provide material and product research, sourcing and vendor coordination
- Conduct site surveys and draft existing conditions in Revit.
- Research and source finishes, fixtures and materials, generating fixture and finish schedules and placeholder budgets based on existing templates
- Upkeep material and resource library (digital & physical)
- Gain familiarity with the firm’s brand guidelines, resources, and standards
- Develop documents and design presentations for internal and client reviews (i.e. FF&E presentation, development of interior elevations, floor plans, furniture plans, concept documents)
- Assist in design development process including plans, elevations, and custom furniture items
- Use Revit and related software to produce construction documents
- Develop and review detail drawings for construction plans
- Coordinate with contractors, architects, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure project success
- Manage individual deliverables and workflow within larger project schedules and communicate any conflicts to the design team
Qualifications:
- BA Interior Design or related field
- 1-4 years relevant experience
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Revit, and Bluebeam
- Experience with AI software (i.e. midjourney) a plus but not required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of standard office software (i.e. Google Suite, Slack, Zoom)
- Legal authorization to work in the US
