Job Overview:
We are seeking a talented Junior Architectural Designer with 3-5 years of professional experience in high-end residential, hospitality, and retail interiors. The ideal candidate is a versatile designer with a strong sense of aesthetics, technical proficiency, and the ability to manage projects from concept through construction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead projects through all phases, including Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration.
- Prepare and review architectural and interior design drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, consultants, contractors, and vendors.
- Research and source furniture, lighting, fabrics, wallpapers, and interior finishes within project budgets and aesthetics.
- Create custom millwork, furniture, and FF&E specifications, including pricing, ordering, and tracking.
- Conduct design studies, digital modeling, product/material research, and client presentations.
- Engage in on-site installation, decorative styling, and coordination with contractors.
- Assist in the preparation of custom furniture and millwork drawings, renderings, and construction details.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, NYC zoning laws, ADA regulations, and construction standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or Interior Design from an accredited institution.
- 3-5 years of post-graduate experience in architecture or interior design, with relevant NYC project experience.
- Proficiency in REVIT, RHINO, AND ENSCAPE is required.
- Strong communication, organization, and project management skills.
- Experience with construction administration, consultant coordination, and technical detailing.
- Knowledge of relevant designers, vendors, materials, and construction methods across retail, hospitality, and high-end residential interiors.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and passion for design.
Benefits & Compensation:
- Salary $70,000 – $90,000, based on experience.
