We are seeking a Junior Architect to join our team. Our office specializes in educational facilities planning and design through construction phases. This role is open to a range of experience levels, from architecture graduates with 5+ years of experience. Proficiency in AutoCAD, project specification writing, and a proactive, self-sufficient work ethic are essential.
Responsibilities:
New Jersey Licensure
Having in-house architects capable of signing documents during design and construction phases is valuable. While candidates with a current NJ license are preferred, we are open to candidates on track for licensure.
AutoCAD Proficiency
Proficient in AutoCAD to create accurate and detailed architectural drawings for various project phases.
Project Management
Ability to manage a project from inception to completion, including schematic design, NJ Department of Education and local code review, public bid, and construction administration. Must be capable of preparing all necessary documentation for project bidding and award processes.
Project Specifications
Prepare project specifications, ensuring alignment with design intent, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
Regulatory Compliance
Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations. Ensure designs adhere to these requirements.
Self-Sufficiency and Proactivity
Demonstrate a self-sufficient and proactive approach to work, taking initiative in addressing challenges and seeking opportunities for improvement.
Job Trial Period
A brief trial period will be provided to assess the candidate’s ability to adapt, collaborate, and contribute to current design projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, on track to licensure, or current NJ license.
- 5+ years of professional experience
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with educational facilities and public bid processes is a plus.
