We are currently seeking an Intermediate Level Job Captain to join our Sunnyvale office. This position is ideal for motivated individuals who excel at coordinating design and technical documentation, communicating with clients and consultants, and working effectively within a team.
Responsibilities
- Produce accurate and coordinated Construction Documents and Details using AutoCAD and/or Revit, ensuring compliance with California Building Codes, ADA requirements, and Title 24.
- Participate in all phases of a project, from Schematic Design through Construction Administration.
- Assist consultant coordination (structural, MEP, civil, etc.) to ensure accurate documentation.
- Support construction administration efforts: respond to RFIs, review submittals/shop drawings, resolve construction issues, and attend site visits as needed.
- Research, coordinate, and submit plan check responses to city agencies.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to maintaining quality standards in design and technical documentation.
- Communicate effectively with clients, consultants, and contractors in meetings and presentations.
- Manage project timelines and deliverables, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Be prepared for full-time office presence, not remote.
Qualifications
- Accredited degree in Architecture or equivalent.
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience in residential and/or commercial projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (required), with skills in Revit, SketchUp, Photoshop, and Excel.
- Strong technical drafting and detailing skills.
- Strong design sensibility and ability to coordinate details from sketches/redlines.
- Knowledge of California codes and permitting processes.
- Excellent organizational and teamwork skills; proactive and reliable.
