Who are we looking for?
- Candidate must have a degree in architecture. A Master’s degree is desirable.
- An individual who is based in (or can relocate to) the greater Joshua Tree area to focus on High Desert projects.
- A self-starter who is collegial, motivated and diligent, with experience in workplace, adaptive reuse, technology or entertainment projects.
- Revit-capable.
- 5+ years of post-degree work experience in an environment that includes technical drawings and documentation.
- An individual with a passion and interest in how things are made, with experience in consultant coordination including Structural and MEP through multiple phases of work.
- Someone who is either licensed to practice architecture, or is in the licensure process.
- Someone with strong building code knowledge and experience with plan check and permitting.
- Someone with experience or a demonstrated interest in earthen construction.
- Someone with great communication skills – both written and verbal. Readers and thinkers preferred.
- Someone who takes their work but not themselves seriously, loves dogs, and would enjoy the camaraderie found in a small office.

- Take ownership of your work and feel comfortable producing ideas and concepts for presentations, space planning, and design implementation.
- Turn ideas into the nuts and bolts of construction.
- Engage in every phase of a project, from concept to construction.
- Feel confident coordinating and managing consultants and project collaborators.

- In the High Desert, LMA focuses on residential, retail and hospitality projects that typically feature unconventional materials or building systems.
- We are committed to the advancement of adobe and earthen masonry construction where it is suitable and work hand in hand with clients and consultants to ensure successful outcomes.
- In Southern California, LMA focuses on high-performance workplace and upcycling of existing buildings to bring new purpose and life back into old spaces.
- We have great clients and have designed and built ambitious and high-performance workplaces for companies such as Warner Brothers, Apple and Beats by Dre, along with well-known entertainment, production, retail, hospitality and educational companies.
- More than most firms, we provide project leadership and encourage collaboration. We frequently work hand in hand with graphic designers, interiors specialists, fabricators and other architects, many of whom are considered leaders in their respective fields.
