StudioJYO is a growing interior architecture firm specializing in high-end residential interior design and interior architecture in the Bay Area. We focus on clean modern interiors that are functional, warm and inviting. We currently have two open positions: Junior Designer, and Intermediate Designer. We are looking for a candidate with a strong design sense, excellent graphic skills, organizational ability, and an energetic “get things done” attitude. Our firm is small and nimble but engages in only premium projects and expects the highest quality work product. If you want to work on beautiful projects, grow as a professional, all in a collegial and friendly small-firm environment, this may be the right fit for you. We are a small firm so everybody pitches in as needed and you will get exposure to wide range of responsibilities. Positive and flexible attitude is a must!

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Interior Design or Architecture
  • INTERMEDIATE DESIGNER: 4-5 years residential experience at an Architecture or Interior Design firm
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, i.e. able to produce floor plan, interior elevations.
  • Proficient in InDesign and Photoshop
  • Proficient in Rhino and / or Sketchup
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Must live in Bay Area / commute to SF for regular working hours M-F

INTERMEDIATE DESIGNER DUTIES

  • Participate in managing all phases in design from conceptual design to construction administration.
  • Prepare and coordinate interiors drawing packages for GC bid / construction.
  • Produce detail drawings, with a good understanding of material and construction requirements.
  • Track and manage timeline and budget of projects
  • Communication with the client
  • Select furnishings, materials, fixtures, and hardwares
  • Produce and oversee presentation materials, furniture plan, material renderings, 3d sketches
  • Coordination with architects and other consultants
  • Manage and track project procurement
  • Visit job site and review and respond to RFIs and Shop Drawing Submittals

SALARY RANGE

  • Salary commensurate with experience
  • Bonus based on performance

SCHEDULE

  • Full time Monday to Friday
  • Hybrid / remote work potential; must be in person in San Francisco office 3 days per week, and available throughout the week for site and showroom visits around the Bay Area.
