Intermediate Architect with Historic Preservation Experience

Building Conservation Associates, Inc. (BCA) seeks a preservation architect to join the technical staff in our New York office. The preservation architect will participate in a range of activities related to the assessment and treatment of historic buildings, including field investigation, building assessments, materials testing, historic research, report writing, preparation of construction documents, and project monitoring during construction.

Candidates must have the following qualifications to be considered:

  • 5-year professional Bachelor of Architecture or a Master of Architecture degree.
  • 3-5 years of post-graduate experience in the field of conservation of historic preservation.
  • A working knowledge about the conservation and treatment of a wide range of historic building material.
  • Excellent skills in technical writing, verbal, and visual communication.
  • Demonstrable proficiency in AutoCAD with proficiency with Revit or 3D modeling programs preferred.
  • The ability to travel locally and be comfortable working at heights in an outdoor environment.
  • Prior experience in construction administration.
