INWORKSHOP is thrilled to welcome a talented INTERIORS ARCHITECT/DESIGNER to a growing practice with a wide range of active project types. Currently on the boards: residential retro-fits and enlargements, ground-up, mixed-use new developments, and Passive House projects. You’d be a great fit if you:

  • Are eligible to work in the United States
  • Are/will be based in the larger NYC metro region. This position is work from office, and occasional site visits will be assumed. We’re committed to hiring qualified designers who are based locally.
  • Hold a BA or MA degree in Architecture, with interest and professional experience in interiors.
  • Have a MINIMUM 3 years of proven professional experience in an interior design and/or architecture office that also does interiors.
  • Are interested in all aspects of design, construction administration, and project management.
  • Have design and technical skills required to assist in all phases of design
  • Are comfortable working on various projects/scales simultaneously
  • Want to work under a Registered Architect (NCARB AXP etc. hours earned)
  • Have relevant working experience in NYC interiors, new developments is a plus
  • Take satisfaction in seeing projects get built
  • Are proactive in keeping your digital files well organized
  • Feel comfortable in a growing dynamic practice (what this really means is taking initiative, being a self-starter, and sometimes being OK with things like troubleshooting the printer because there is no corporate IT department!)
  • Proficiency with industry software.
  • Know Revit well
  • Have exceptional verbal and graphic communication skills

 

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Meeting with clients, establishing interiors approach
  • FF&E selections and documentation
  • Project management
  • Kitchen millwork custom design
  • Manage vendors and communication
  • Coordinating with contractors
  • Procuring samples and managing the in-house materials library

Annual salaries offered will be commensurate with experience and based on qualifications.
