Job Title: Interior Designer

About Us: The Cearnal Collective is an award-winning Architecture and Interior Design firm located in beautiful downtown Santa Barbara. With over 40 years of local experience, the Collective boasts a wide range of project types and design styles. We are a highly collaborative, design-centric office looking for a driven, energetic, creative, organized, and generally excellent designer to join our team! Location: Santa Barbara, CA

Skills & Qualifications: 

  • Professional degree or certification in interior design or a related field
  • Minimum 4 years of professional design experience (commercial experience preferred)
  • Proficiency in BIM required, Revit proficiency preferred
  • Proficiency in InDesign and Photoshop
  • Digital and hand rendering skills preferred
  • Knowledge of and experience with California state building codes and standards
  • Familiarity with building materials, finishes, furniture, and lighting
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize workload and tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Positive, self-motivated, curious, and eager to contribute and grow in a highly collaborative studio environment


  • Work with a team on conceptual design, development, and presentation of project concepts
  • Produce and manage interior construction drawings, finish/fixture schedules, and specifications
  • Source inspiration, research materials, and furnishings
  • Attend project meetings and site visits and work closely and collaboratively with principals, clients, architects, contractors, and consultants
  • Prepare FF&E estimates, budgets, proposals, specifications, purchase orders, payments, and installation
