Thomas de Cruz ArchitectsThomas de Cruz Architects is seeking freelance architects/Part 2 architectural assistants to join its team remotely.
We are a small, design-driven practice specialising in high-quality contemporary residential projects. Our projects range from small extensions and remodelling of period properties in and around London to new build houses around the UK.
The work packages would suit a young architect or Part 2 working for themselves who needs some extra work or wants variety. A short-term relationship is possible but the preference is to establish a reliable long-term partnership. The work is likely to be intermittent rather than regular and will vary in content and scale.
Experience in contemporary residential architecture and interior design would be an advantage.
We are looking for one or more of the following skill sets:
- construction drawing packages for tender and construction, including large-scale details, general arrangement drawings, lighting and small power layouts and schedules
- planning drawings specifications
- 3D Sketchup models and renders
- mood boards and interior design
Candidates must be qualified and experienced, able to get on with the task without excessive oversight. Candidates do not need to have all the numbered skills above.
All candidates should have the following:
- minimum of one year post-UK Part 2 qualification work experience in the UK; do not apply unless you have passed the UK Part 2 and have this work experience
- proficiency in CAD; Vectorworks is an advantage
- documented track record in construction drawings and detailing on
- domestic-scale residential buildings and/or experience with 3D modelling and rendering
- fluency in spoken and written English
- ability to work remotely (being able to visit the office from time to time would be an advantage)
