Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Architectural Drafter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in architectural drafting and shop drawing development, with a particular focus on technical drawings ready for construction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed architectural drawings and shop drawings for construction.
- Utilize Rhino software for creating precise and accurate 3D models.
- Collaborate with design and construction teams to ensure consistency and quality.
- Adapt designs based on feedback and project requirements.
- Ensure all drawings and specifications meet industry standards and regulations.
Necessary Skills:
- Thoroughly understand millwork fabrication standards and practices
- Understand the features and limitations of a range of materials
- Understand joinery practices
- Understand basic engineering concepts
- Understand basic building code specs
- Understand safe mounting and rigging practices
- Translate design concepts into functional and buildable objects
- Foresee potential engineering issues in shell models
- Communicate technical concepts or engineering issues to designers clearly, provide solutions
- Consider potential interaction of millwork with other elements/trades, and engineer accordingly
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in architectural drafting, particularly in a design and build environment.
- Strong proficiency in Rhino software.
- Ability to produce construction-ready technical drawings.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
