Location: hybrid or full office working – four days in MRC’s Blackfriars office per week, one day a week working from home
Salary: circa £100k depending on experience plus package plus discretionary bonus

We are looking for a new director of projects to expand our senior management team and help us run more projects.
This varied role offers the opportunity to work on high profile and fast-moving civic and cultural projects with global clients. We help clients commission new museums, contemporary art galleries, libraries, visitor attractions, residential buildings, hotels and resorts, universities and performing arts venues as well as urban and landscape design projects.
Our competitions attract the world’s leading architects and designers, and our juries often include thought-leaders and famous figures from the worlds of design, media, politics and business.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work on masterplans and public realm initiatives, on forthcoming icons as well as beloved historic buildings. Please be prepared to travel to overseas site visits and/or client meetings each quarter.

Who we’re looking for
You need to be an architect or masterplanner with a strong academic background and professional record, attuned to world class design and with proven project and management experience of at least five to eight years.
The role
The successful candidate will lead named projects, liaising with clients, overseeing procurement processes, identifying design partners and managing project teams. You should be able to absorb complex information at speed; write and guide design briefs; be confident presenting at VIP, CEO and director level and run mid-competition workshops/charrettes for leading international studios.
Alongside your competitions’ portfolio, you will be expected to bring fresh ideas and innovation to our processes and internal management culture; provide project management direction to team members, assist with budgets and contract negotiations as well as win new business and represent MRC.

You will be a good fit if your skills/experience include:
- senior client or management experience with the ability to grow strong relationships
