Job Description

MGMT is a consulting firm for companies that serve the creative built environment, such as architects, engineers, artists, developers and accessibility specialists. MGMT provides a full suite of business administration services to young and growing firms – from accounting and project coordination to legal and information technology – allowing them to focus on the crafts they do best. One of those services is Marketing and we are looking for a full-time Director of Marketing to collaboratively lead this service with our growing and vibrant team.

One of our major clients (and the majority of focus for this job position) is an award-winning and rapidly growing architecture firm based in Los Angeles, with new markets opening across the US and Europe. This firm is a dynamic, mid-size practice with typologies ranging from Hotels to Affordable Housing, Production Studios to Tech Campuses, Residences to Restaurants, and Master Plans to Commercial Spaces.

The Director of Marketing will be a key role in maintaining and growing the brand of our clients, especially our architectural client. This position will be responsible for the oversight, production, development and quality of marketing collateral, including portfolios, project photography, websites, social media, RFP/Qs, conferences and public events. Having a keen eye for design and the creative arts, collaborating with both administrative and project teams, and being knowledgeable of current discourse and historical trends is key. The Director of Marketing will be expected to think strategically in identifying and creating new opportunities for elevating the clients’ brand and working hand-in-hand with the Principals and other Directors as part of the leadership team, positively shaping marketing and media strategies. Included in this is leading the coordination between Marketing, PR, Branding and those involved in Business Development.

Typical Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day marketing activities, including file management, communications, project data organization, etc.
  • In conjunction with other firm leaders, design and implement branding, public relations, firm activities, marketing and business development strategies
  • Research and identify new opportunities, such as RFP bids, new marketing trends or brand/company awareness
  • Coordinate with our project teams to identify and implement marketing opportunities based on our work – from concept sketches to finished projects
  • Manage proposals in response to RFPs/RFQs
  • Identify opportunities for awards, conferences, etc.
  • Oversee maintenance and updating of websites, digital portfolios and various online platforms
  • Oversee maintenance of posts and engagements of social media, including Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn
  • Oversee graphic design for marketing materials, print portfolios, business cards, banners, presentations, etc.
  • Craft narratives to describe projects, people and the studio

Required Qualifications

  • 8-10+ years of experience in marketing and architecture/related fields
  • A passion for the built environment, storytelling, the creative arts and business development
  • Adobe Creative Suite (especially InDesign) and Microsoft Office software proficiency; Bluebeam and Ajera CRM preferred
  • Ability to converse fluently in architectural/creative and professional languages
  • Exceptional communication skills – verbal, visual and written
  • Flexible, creative and exploratory approach, rooted in current industry knowledge

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Matching Retirement Investments
  • Paid Holidays & Personal Time Off
  • Studio Happy Hours & Training Sessions
  • Studio-sponsored field trips and volunteer opportunities

Please include portfolio of marketing collateral produced, writing samples and references. Your portfolio should give a strong indication of how you communicate visually/graphically and how you write descriptively about architecture and design. Include links to any social media accounts or websites that you have created/managed. Zipped files will not be opened; single pdf files only.
