SO – ILSO – IL is an internationally recognized architecture and design firm based in New York. We are currently seeking motivated Designers with a minimum of 3-5 years of postgraduate professional experience.
You will be working as a team member and be expected to create new ideas both in collaboration and independently within an international design-driven studio. You will work as part of a team to design and produce drawings, convey architectural concepts, create renderings, build presentations and working models, and will report directly to the Project Leader and Principals.
Designer Position Description
- Develop architectural studies at the direction of a Project Leader or Principal.
- Prepare and present design proposals to internal teams and consultants.
- Support Project Leader in preparing and presenting to the client.
- Contribute to the production and development of all necessary documents, drawings, models, images, schemes etc related to the design and building process.
- Lead small projects when necessary.
- Independently coordinate with consultants, vendors, etc.
Prerequisites
- 3 years of experience in an architectural design office.
- Required proficiency: Rhino, Autocad, Adobe Suite.
- Preferred proficiency: Revit, Grasshopper, Enscape.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Ability to work both independently and seamlessly within a collaborative design team.
- Ability to liaise with outside structural and MEP engineers
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of early design phases such as concept and schematic design.
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of design development phase
- Experience in and knowledge of construction documentation and administration preferred.
- Capable of working flexibly in a demanding environment.
- Strong communication skills, with regard to client presentations, meeting organization and preparation.
- Physical modeling skills required, including digital fabrication, wood, metal and foam, and organizing and maintaining a model shop.
- Professional degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in Architecture, Design or relevant field
