Design and project manager – Italian speaking
LEMA UK is the UK branch of one of the leading Italian furniture companies working in the luxury contract market for multi-apartments. The contract division is delivering furniture and joinery packages to a range of high-end residential projects primarily for blue chip companies and developers within the London area.
The ideal candidate will have basic experience within this industry where this role will require you to read detailed drawings and floor plans, control documents via main contractor platforms, liaise with clients and request more information when needed. The candidate will be reporting to the head of project management on daily basis.
Skills needed are:
- organisation skills
- CAD and Excel
- ability to manage multiple projects at a time and work as a team
- a CAD technician/document controller/architect and designer/estimator background would be an advantage
It is fundamental to have the proficiency in the Italian language due to the frequency and level of correspondence with our Italian suppliers.
Key responsibilities:
- lease with client and Italian suppliers
- substantial involvement during tender stage, pre-construction and construction phases
- producing bill of quantities, schedules and all the relevant documents
- extracting information from architectural drawings and tender packages
- participating to design meetings and workshops
- collaborating with design team on detailing to achieve design intent
- working closely with project and site management team
- reporting to head of project management
Key skills:
- proven ability to meet deadlines and provide a high-quality proactive service to clients
- good knowledge of Microsoft Office package, particularly Excel
- degree in architecture, product design, interior design or accounting
- have a can-do and flexible attitude
- able to understand technical drawings and floor plans
- strong organisational and time management skills
- able to multitask/work on multiple projects and clients
- ability to think commercially
- being a real team player
- excellent oral and written communication skills
- be proactive in driving schemes forward
- someone who is flexible, well organised, willing to take on responsibility, capable of working using their own initiative, able to work with different disciplines and can follow instructions
