The Business Development Coordinator works closely with every member of the Business Development team in their local office including the Partner, Director, Head of and Manager. The Business Development Coordinator will work in close dialogue with the Business Development Director, Head of and Managers on the acquisition of new business by leading the production and delivery of prequalification efforts and generating and managing business development materials and data. Primary responsibilities include generating and managing business development materials such as responses to RFPs and RFQs, interviews, portfolios, and related materials; and supporting logistics for new client inquiries. We are seeking a candidate who is excited to grow your abilities and knowledge, and in turn share your skills and knowledge with the Global Business Development Team who sits in BIG’s Copenhagen, New York, London, Barcelona, and Shenzhen offices. As a Business Development Coordinator, you will coordinate a wide range of tasks simultaneously for multiple projects. Attention to detail is of the outmost importance. The Business Development Coordinator reports to the Business Development Director.

 

Business Development Coordinator KPIs:

·        Ability to run prequalifications (PQs, RFQs, RFPs, RFIs) solo including development of the document and teaming with limited oversight (including interfacing with Biz Managers/Coordinators in other offices for reference PQs, meeting with internal departments and team members such as BIG Landscape, Project Designers, the Operations Team, as well as external consultants, to collect information and incorporate within prequalifications and presentation materials)

·        Ability to become a subject-matter-expert in CRM and project databases (Sugar, Open Asset, Airtable) and act as a resource to business development team and BIG leadership

·        Enthusiastic and proactive support of team members and larger team goals

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Give active support to the Business Development Team, including BD Directors, Partners, Heads of and Managers, including effective collaboration virtually across all global studio locations
  • Prepare regular status updates on a weekly basis or as needed for Business Development Director and Partner
  • Support on lectures, exhibition, and press-related activities (as needed)

·        Prepare, coordinate, and produce RFP and RFQ submittals, including creating and editing graphic and written content for proposals, interview presentations, pitch decks, and general business development materials

·        Organize, maintain, and update project cut sheets, resumes, bios, project portfolios

·        Maintain our CRM and project databases (Sugar, Open Asset, Airtable); serve as an internal and external representative for one of the CRM databases

·        Assist in maintaining a clear overview of business-related inquires including the initial assessment, vetting, and reporting of new potential projects; and supporting pro-active market research projects (higher education, sports & stadia, cultural, etc.)

·        Assist a Business Development Director, Head of or Manager with drafting fee proposals for potential projects (as needed)

·        Act proactively, balance multiple incoming priorities, take initiative, and bring new ideas to the table

 

Skills/Experience:

·        Bachelor’s Degree (Architecture, Design, Urban Studies, Communications, Writing, or related field preferred) with 1.5-3.5 years in a similar role. Experience with business development at an architecture, engineering, or construction firm preferred

·        Have an interest and affinity for market research in architecture and design

·        Fluent in Adobe Creative and Microsoft Suites with strong graphic skills

·        Fluent in spoken and written English with strong writing abilities (fluency in another language is a plus, especially in our market regions of Central America, South America and Japan)

·        Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • Self-disciplined and confident in a creative and dynamic environment
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work independently as well as in team environments, often under tight deadlines
