BIM COORDINATOR

Seeking BIM Coordinator to join our team to act as a technological leader on a wide range of projects on Revit. We are looking for a unique individual with a passion for architecture and design who is a natural teacher, is well versed in Revit, and is accustomed to implementing systems in a rapidly growing firm.

The position entails the maintenance of our BIM libraries. The ideal candidate is an Architect / Architectural Designer who is also a Revit expert to be our in-house BIM Coordinator.

This position will be responsible for refining and updating all office and project templates and libraries as well as providing active and direct assistance and helping project manage ensuring best practices. This person will also develop processes and on-going in-house training to individuals and groups. QA and QC all Revit models and drawings.

Responsibilities:

  • Streamline us: Updates system-wide BIM libraries with appropriate graphic and written assets from current building codes, energy codes, and requirements of regulatory agencies.
  • The candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent career experience.
  • Have the ability and willingness to learn new technology quickly.
  • Have a practical understanding of the Design and Delivery process.
  • Ensure all employees are following protocols and saving work appropriately.
  • Enforce the usage of digital library templates and assets per office digital guidelines across all projects.
  • Develop/draft architectural and engineering site plans, floor plans, building elevations, building sections, and details.
  • Assist management in preparing proposals and generate correspondence for clients and project managers.
  • Contribute to the documentation, dissemination, and monitoring of standards, best practices and industry advancements.
  • Participate in team meetings to help resolve project issues such as coordination, scheduling, and technical concerns.
  • Schedules training with groups and individuals and educates team members
  • Research developments in the industry to “keep ahead of the curve” so that all of our Revit users have the appropriate tools to be productive.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience (5-8 years+) in an architectural or engineering practice working on large scale, complex projects in the areas of high-end Hospitality, Residential, Retail.
  • Ability to encourage and train effectively and tactfully, in-person and via web conference.
  • Extensive knowledge of Revit
  • Project management and training experience.
  • Quality control experience with a sharp eye for detail
  • Familiarity with BIM (Revit) programming languages (LISP/VBA/ARX) is a plus
  • Familiarity with SketchUp, Navisworks (collision detection), and other 3D software is a plus
  • Familiarity with government agency standards is a plus (OSHPD, DSA, LADBS, etc)
  • Experience in electronic file transfers (email, FTP, CD/DVD, Box, DropBox, Egnyte)
  • Experience with Program Management and Project collaboration software, such as ProCore, Newforma, and BlueBeam.
