Adaptive Property Solutions – a quickly growing entrepreneurial spirited company which utilizes innovation and technology to provide commercial clients single-source, end-to-end, full-service solutions for portfolio-wide site surveys across the United States and Canada – is seeking an As-Built CAD Expert.
APS’s CAD Drafting and Review team works independently and collaboratively alongside our Quality Control team to ensure that our customers receive consistency, accuracy, and timeliness on their projects regardless of location.
This role focuses on our as-built survey product line, which provides essential building documentation for clients in the commercial and retail sectors. The primary responsibility is to perform quality control reviews and update existing condition drawings in AutoCAD, based on scan data and measurements collected by our field team on-site. Drawings must be fully coordinated and produced to meet both our internal standards and the client’s standards, including their block library, layer specifications, and graphic standards. This position may also involve creating new drawings as needed. If you enjoy “find the difference” puzzle games and have a strong understanding of CAD drafting, this might be the perfect job for you.
Essential credentials include:
• 10+ years of experience in Architecture, Interior Design, Building Construction Management, or another related field.
• 5+ years office experience including drawing and developing CAD files from existing conditions documentation
• Knowledge of building systems, US standard commercial construction methods, and detailing
• Experience creating and reviewing as-built/existing conditions documentation
• Experience generating drawing review notes and corrections (red-lines) and making these changes
• Strong communications and organizational skills
• Personal organization and time management skills
• Project coordination skills
• Proficiency and project experience in using:
o AutoCAD
o Recap or other Point Cloud Management software
o Matterport Tour and Point Cloud experience
o Acrobat or Bluebeam Markup Tools or other digital drawing markup platforms
• Native speaker of Standard American English or Fluency in Standard American English is required.
Preferred, but not required credentials include:
• Professional Architecture degree (B Arch/M Arch)
• Experience providing coherent review notes and feedback to others
• Project management experience and team coordination skills
We are looking for an independent contractor to fill an initial need for a part-time equivalent hourly position. There is potential for this to transition into a permanent full-time equivalent hourly position eventually.
