Who we’re looking for
To be successful in this role, you will assist the Design Department Manager and Architects in the execution of assignments to help reach the end goal of specific projects.
Our ideal candidate will have two or more years experience drafting in commercial construction. However, we would consider someone with other significant architectural drafting experience. Proficiency in producing construction documents using AutoCAD is essential. Candidates must have experience generating documents from design sketches through complete construction documents. This is a position that requires a strong work ethic, willingness to learn and assist, to help complete projects in a timely fashion.
This position is located in Medford, Oregon.
You’ll need to have
2+ years of design & construction drawing experience.
Skill in computer-aided drafting design software along with demonstrated competence in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Strong technical background and creative skills.
Work both independently and in a highly collaborative team environment to support design and construction document preparation.
Ability to determine and meet deadlines.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Ability to adapt to changes in our industry.
Design Job Captain Responsibilities
- leads drafting of all drawings and design documents for the project architect’s review for their assigned projects.
- supports the project architect with all material research, selection, and subsequent detailing efforts for their assigned projects.
- comprehensively performs required code research and analysis for the project architect’s final approval.
- supports project architect with preparing, submitting, and managing required applications to the relevant ahj’s.
- supports project architect with creating + maintaining design-build project schedules.
- drafts for approval, issues, and manages request for proposal process with potential design subconsultants.
- manages coordination with selected design subconsultants on assigned projects.
- proactively schedules and prepares agendas for all design-build meetings.
- timely documents meeting minutes for all design-build meetings.
- prepares all addendums + asi’s for the project architect’s approval.
- supports the project architect with construction administration responsibilities:
- rfi’s, asi’s, + submittals
- attends all oac meetings and supports construction team as needed.
