Diller Scofidio + RenfroDiller Scofidio + Renfro is an interdisciplinary design studio that integrates architecture, the visual arts, and the performing arts. Based in New York City, Diller Scofidio + Renfro is led by four partners who work collaboratively with a staff of 100 architects, artists and administrators.
We are currently seeking a 3D Architectural Animation Expert with Strong Design Skills for immediate hiring. The ideal candidate must be proficient and demonstrate knowledge of 3D modeling, rendering and post production software. Strong attention to details as well as strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must.
Responsibilities:
- 3D Digital modeling
- Material creation and mapping, lighting, asset placement, animation path creation, and story-boarding. Ideal candidates can also create build up animations utilizing moving components of 3D models.
- Post processing using After Effects, Premiere Pro, or other editing software.
- Ability to integrate text (2D/3D) and sound into animations through 3D modeling and post production editing.
- Ability to propose experimental and alternative animation/film representation techniques into animation narrative, examples include but are not limited to: physical models, stop motion, collage and aerial videography.
- Working as part of a design team on competitions and early stage design projects
- Offer critical thinking on how to best illustrate a project or project ideas
Candidates must have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture (preferred but not required)
- Minimum 2 years of professional working experience
- Proficiency with design and rendering software: Rhino/Enscape/Vray/After Effects/ Premiere Pro (Additional software knowledge including Rhino Sub D, Blender, Maya, and 3ds Max, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign are a plus)
- Ability to meet deadlines and multi-task with minimal supervision.
- Ability to take design direction, feedback, and observations with a positive attitude
- Advance knowledge of digital material creation methods, lighting and texturing;

This is a Full Time – In Studio position. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience ranging from $65k to $80k depending on experience, excluding bonuses and other benefits. This is a good faith estimate based on the expectations as laid out in the job description.
