City of SacramentoThe City of Sacramento is seeking an experienced, certified Architect for a senior level position in the Architectural Section in the Facilities Division of the Department of Public Works. The Architectural Section provides design services and project management for major repairs and remodels of existing buildings and the construction of new governmental facilities. Successful candidates will have architectural experience for a variety of building types. Experience with governmental facilities, such as libraries, community centers, corporation yards, police facilities, fire stations and office buildings are desirable. This is a senior level position requiring the ability to manage projects and consultants with general direction provided by a supervising engineer or architect. A thorough understanding of all applicable codes, and all aspects of building design is required, from programming, design development, to permitting, bidding and construction.
Under general direction, the Senior Architect participates in the creation of architectural designs of City buildings and related projects, including alterations and repairs; develops plans; inspects sites and assists in problem resolution; prepares and reviews reports and other technical materials; performs management of projects in major buildings and groups of buildings, and related site development; and reviews public or private building designs.
