The Revit Technical Coordinator position requires a minimum of three years’ experience working in a design and/or construction firm or an equivalent in college courses. A bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture or interior design or equivalent clinical experience is preferred. Prior experience or knowledge of medical equipment, and/or equipment planning is favorable. This position requires regular communication (phone, email and in-person) and coordination with program managers, architectural firms, engineering firms and contractors. It is a critical support position for a team of equipment planners and requires attention to detail. The ability and willingness to travel anywhere in the United States occasionally is required, although it will be primarily in California.

The Revit Technical Coordinator will exhibit computer proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam and Microsoft Office. Individual must be a self-starter who is able to learn, understand and make effective use of proprietary and custom software applications. Additionally, individual must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, a strong detail-orientation, motivation and the ambition to grow and accept additional responsibilities. Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills are required.  The Revit Technical Coordinator will demonstrate the ability to understand, prioritize and successfully complete assignments and meet project deadlines. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibility of the Revit Technical Coordinator is to produce equipment drawings in Revit using the equipment list provided by the internal equipment planners. This includes updating the Revit medical equipment families to project specifics, placing them onto the drawings, setting up sheets for Design Development and Construction Document submittals, QA/QC of drawing documents with equipment list and various drawing coordination throughout the design phase. Support activities include equipment planning, procurement assistance and project management tasks as requested by senior team members.

POSSIBLE DUTIES

The Revit Technical Coordinator may be required to perform any or all the following functions (the following duties are examples – this list is not intended to be all-inclusive): 

GENERAL

  • Maintain daily time tracking/reporting
  • Act as a proactive problem-solver and resource to clients and colleagues
  • Assist in the maintenance and development of client relationships
  • Resource for Equipment Planner, Clients and Project Teams
  • Assist in facility assessments and inventories
  • Edit equipment lists at the Equipment Planner’s direction
  • Create PDFs of manufacturer’s written specifications and product literature per Criterion standards  
  • Assemble, distribute, update and maintain the product specifications book (otherwise known as Product Brochure Binder/Report) as required by the project schedule
  • Input specifications into the equipment planning database
  • Assist Equipment Planner with final punch list activities
  • Attend conferences, seminars and trade shows with senior team members 
  • Participate in the preliminary conceptual budgeting process and assist with the establishment of budgets from space programs
  • Prepare and update the room-by-room equipment lists based on the space program, drawings or templates
  • Create and update medical equipment plans using Architect’s background
  • Create and update DD and CD medical equipment packages
  • Synchronize equipment drawings to equipment lists (red-line process)
  • QA/QC
  • Participate in user group meetings with equipment planner(s) as required for all phases of the project
  • Capture meeting minutes, notes and required edits during meeting (eventually perform edits during user meeting)
  • Participate in BIM/design team coordination meetings with the architect team during all phases of the project
  • Participate in engineering coordination with the MEP team
  • Serve as primary back-up and client point-of-contact on behalf of the Equipment Planner
  • Issue the RFPs and obtain quotations for equipment
  • Coordinate receipt of RFP from vendors and assemble information for analysis
  • Input quoted pricing based upon the selected manufacturer into the project budget
  • Develop and provide purchase requisitions for review by Equipment Planner
  • Expedite equipment shipments 
  • Review and verify delivery schedule
  • Other duties as assigned
