Lambert McGuire is an architecture & interior design studio led by Liz Lambert, former founder of Bunkhouse Group, and Larry McGuire of McGuire Moorman Hospitality now McGuire Moorman Lambert Hospitality. The design studio is based in Austin, Texas and primarily focuses on specialty hotel, residential and restaurant projects.

Overall Description: 

Lambert McGuire Design is looking for an architectural Project Manager with 6-10 years of relative professional experience. Candidates should have strong project management experience working on commercial hotel, resort, and/or fast-paced hospitality design projects.

The ideal applicant will be extremely self-motivated, and have the ability to think and work on multiple projects at once with both technical acumen and creative leadership. This candidate should be comfortable with communicating in detail with the project team consistently throughout each project – both verbally and in written form, and delegating to appropriate members of the team. The candidate will be involved in all aspects and phases of design and construction and who thinks and works at the broadest and smallest of scales; and can uphold all schedule & deliverable obligations as agreed upon with clients and collaborators.

Responsibilities will include:

You will contribute to the production, coordination and management of projects from design concept through construction administration. Applicants should be comfortable working in a fast paced environment and demonstrate a strong ability in the following:

  • Able to lead/guide a team on all phases of a project
  • Able to manage multiple projects across the board, simultaneously
  • Strong client facing capabilities
  • Attend internal meetings to ensure design aligns with project goals and parameters.
  • Participate in the development of design concepts and presentation materials, propose design solutions as needed.
  • Cartoon design presentations and architectural drawings sets
  • Confidence presenting ideas – both internally and externally
  • Construction Documentation level drawing work, including highly articulate design detailing. Proficiency with traditional architectural vocabulary and the fundamentals of building construction and assembly
  • Identify and engage with all consultants/vendors needed to complete a project. Management and coordination inclusive of MEP and Structural Engineers, Lighting Designers, Landscape Designers, etc…
  • Identify and address design related issues as well as following protocol and procedures in order to reach the best resolution.
  • Research and maintain current level understanding of materiality and building Architectural Schedules & Specifications
  • Coordinate information and work of a multi-disciplined team throughout the development and contract document phases of a project.
  • Proficient in construction administrative processes; manage consultants, delegate work assignments and provide direction and guidance to junior staff for deliverables needed.
  • Regularly provide reports and/or insight on the project’s status  and project details that contribute to the project’s success.

Requirements:

  • Minimum five (5) years working in Residential and Hospitality with a high level of experience in technical and design production.
  • Ability to demonstrate full knowledge of industry practices and a proven track record of quality control on progressively more complex and diverse assignments.
  • Experience in construction document preparation and field observation, knowledge of building materials, specifications and construction techniques.
  • Must have thorough understanding of construction administration requirements.
  • Experience in dealing with governmental agencies and building/zoning codes and appropriate knowledge of engineering disciplines to evaluate and coordinate work done by consultants.
  • Solid judgment, based on precedent and policy, in the development of a recommended course of action.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication as well as time management skills.
  • Excellent client management and customer service orientation and presentation skills.
  • Understanding of sustainable practices and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in relevant computer software:

Building Information Modeling: Revit, basic knowledge of BIM 360, AutoCAD , Revu
