Interior Designer

A Designer at MA becomes familiar with the Interiors process for residential, office and hospitality projects.  They learn what is completed in Schematic Design, Design Development and Construction Documents.  Responsibilities include working as part of a team to produce design presentations, make material and FF&E selections, and assist in the production of construction drawings.  They need to be able to shift from one project to another. Strong communication and design skills along with being flexible is necessary.  We encourage studio members to ask questions, look for opportunities to learn and expand their skill set.


·  Assist team in the preparation of client design presentations (selecting conceptual images, generating 3D views, rendered elevations, material and FF&E selections) 

· Assist in the creation and development of design concepts

· Production of Design Development and Construction Documents

· Develop an understanding and follow MA standards

· Assist with schedules for interior finishes, appliances, plumbing fixtures and door hardware

· Complete tasks with accuracy and precision with strong attention to detail

· Effectively communicate with team members and organize work load

· Begin to develop knowledge where local codes and ADA requirements are required

· Self-evaluate one’s skills and where improvement is needed


Education: Architecture, Interior Architecture or Interior Design school graduate               

Experience: 2 – 4 years of experience in residential, office and/or hospitality projects


Portfolio demonstrates strong design solutions

Clear verbal and written communication skills

Self-motivated, organized and strong problem-solving skills

Able to collaborate and work effectively in a team setting


Revit, AutoCAD, MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, 3D Modeling, SketchUp
