MANOLA STUDIOManola Studio is a multidisciplinary design studio founded in 2011 with the intent to create meaningful spaces that transcend time and honor their architectural history and landscape. We believe that practicing integrity through design ensures that a project will possess an empathy and functionality that will stand the test of time. Our work covers a broad range of projects including historical preservation, residential, commercial, hospitality, landscape, and furniture design.
JOB POSITION: INTERIOR DESIGNER
We are seeking an Interior Designer with at least 2 years of experience at a design studio, who exhibits strong technical design skills, and has a highly refined sense of taste and style. We’re looking for someone that is passionate about architecture and design and enjoys bringing thoughtful and meaningful ideas to the table. This position requires a high level of technical fluency in AutoCAD (PC-based), as well as practical and conceptual design skills. As a small studio, the pace and environment is fast-moving, high touch, collaborative, social, and value-driven. We are excited to bring on the right person to work with us on a project basis with the opportunity for growth as we continue to expand into new frontiers and take on additional projects.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Communicate design ideas through sketching, drawing, & 3D modeling
• Produce concept, schematic, design development, & construction documents
• Experience & knowledge of mid-range brands, sources, showrooms, & retail stores
• Source both new & vintage furniture, fixtures, accessories, & finishes
• Must enjoy deep dives into research, inspiration & sourcing
• Interface with external consultants & design team to keep projects on schedule & budget
• An exceptional level of attention to detail & mastery of organizational skills
• Ability to work well with a small team & wear many hats
• Experience in furniture & product design a plus
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Professional degree in Architecture or Interior Design
• Fluency in AutoCAD (PC), SketchUp & Adobe Creative Suite. SolidWorks / Rhino a plus
• Demonstrated sense of taste & style
• Demonstrated ability to ideate and execute highly-detailed plans from concept through completion
• Organized, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, team-oriented mindset, strategic thinking and exceptional problem-solving skills required
• Attention to detail, self-motivated, positive attitude, willingness to learn and adapt
• Located in Los Angeles & be willing to travel to project sites as necessary
SALARY & BENEFITS:
This is a full-time, in-office, freelance position based in our East Hollywood studio. $50-65k commensurate with experience.
