Run For The Hills (RFTH) is a super creative, award-winning branding and interior design studio, fashioning exciting and unique commercial, hospitality (F&B) and residential design projects in the UK and overseas.

We are on the hunt for a dynamic, amazingly well-organised and experienced mid-weight interior design project manager and procurement coordinator to join our interiors team.

Your track record

The ideal candidate will have a passion for, and preferably a strong background in, interior design project delivery. The right person will be an assured personality with gravitas and strong influencing skills to direct deadlines and resource management. Someone who fully immerses themselves within all the projects. Has demonstrated ability to manage design deliverables and fantastic FF&E specifying skills in an interior design firm. Actively wishes to pursue opportunities on behalf of RFTH and has tons of experience, ideally within a creative or design company environment, in a client and director-facing role. On a personality front, we love friendly, positive, glass half-full, can-do people.

Key responsibilities

Project management:

  • strong project management skills within interior design and FF&E
  • the go-to person for creating structure in projects
  • collaborate with creative directors and senior designers to manage internal teams over multiple projects
  • leading and driving studio team resources and driving/checking deadlines
  • comfortable producing fully detailed FF&E specifications including control books, materials, finishes, lighting, and sanitary schedules for all aspects of residential and commercial interior design
  • leading the coordination, final specification, and procurement of FF&E, with relevant compliance knowledge
  • solid knowledge of current FF&E sources and enjoys keeping abreast of emerging suppliers
  • facilitate day-to-day communication with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and FF&E specialists
  • act as the primary conduit of information between contractors and suppliers, ensuring seamless information flow
  • devise and maintain project programs, ensuring the team comprehends all requirements to meet key milestone deadlines
  • financial understanding of project costs and budget awareness
  • support lead designers in preparing for design presentations and client meetings, capturing feedback and documenting decisions/actions
  • ensure timely and accurate exchange of information between parties
  • oversee designers’ responses to written questions or RFIs, working closely with the lead designer to prepare RFIs for client response
  • report on project progress, resource allocation or issues to the creative director and senior designers during regular meetings
  • support creative director/lead designer in coordinating and outputting design packages, tracked drawing issue lists and rounds of changes analysis
  • track time and revisions on projects to the agreed scope of works and design fees
  • issue weekly and monthly reports, flagging risks to the director and senior designers

Procurement and coordination:

  • planning client FF&E deadlines and internal FF&E deadlines
  • comfortable creating and processing invoices, sales orders and client-purchasing funds
  • directing the organisation of shipping/delivery logistics to site
  • organising complex delivery/import logistics, including creating and checking any customs/import/export duties and procedures
  • liaison with the company bookkeepers and accountants over procurement tracking
  • monitoring progress of all FF&E/orders (where RFTH is procuring) or creating/handing over purchasing schedules to the client team
  • dealing with storage/white glove/install companies and suppliers to ensure all FF&E is delivered and correct, in time for the site install (checking in on storage co-systems and inventory)
  • planning and coordination of the FF&E installation and styling process on site
  • directing compilation of snagging for sharing with the design team first, then project managers/architect/client
  • providing regular updates to the interior design team, raising up any delays, risks or warning signs at the first sign of any issue
  • estimating and managing FF&E project budgets, value-engineering budgets after the first estimate and then agreeing on final budgets and working strictly within agreed terms

Skills and attributes:

  • someone who demonstrates, through every aspect of who they are, a passionate love of design and art
  • a degree or diploma in interior design or equivalent in the creative industry
  • at least three years’ post-graduate experience in the residential and/or commercial sector
  • impeccable and concise communication and presentation skills, verbal and written; they must be fluent in spoken and written English
  • works well in a creative group and has in-depth sourcing knowledge
  • proficiency in Adobe Suite, CAD/ Vectorworks and Sketchup preferred
  • detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • solution-oriented mindset for devising mitigation strategies
  • strong team player with a willingness to learn and tackle a variety of duties
  • genuine attention to detail; a born ‘checker’
  • positive, highly motivated and enjoys driving a team forward

Our studio

We work from a stylish studio in Queen’s Park in London (NW6) on Lonsdale Road, with lots of buzzy restaurants, cafes, other architect and designer ateliers and workshops. We’re a happy, friendly place to work and you’d be joining a team of highly creative interior designers and graphic designers working across F&B, hotel and F&B projects. A great bunch of people who love what they do.
