A+I, an award-winning strategy-led architecture and design agency, is looking for an Accomplished Project Manager/Architect.  We believe deeply that great design depends on the collaborative output of our teams.  As a key member of an A+I project team, you will provide team leadership and management.  You will work closely with the team’s architects, interior designers, strategists, and brand and graphic designers.  You will connect teams to office leadership, clients, and consultants.  And you will bring the strong design capabilities necessary to deliver meaningful, beautiful, integrated projects through well-managed processes and communication.

You will create impact by:

Providing strong leadership across all aspects of our interdisciplinary projects

  • Embrace and help develop the design strategies that guide project design at A+I.
  • Provide creative initiation of design ideas, both independently and with teams.
  • Coordinate the seamless integration of experience, interior design, graphics & branding with the architectural design.
  • Communicate complex ideas with clarity: visually, verbally, graphically, and in writing.
  • Be passionate about design and have a point of view, while fostering design collaboration within your team and with office leadership.

 

Providing inspiring and empathetic team and project leadership

  • Have sophisticated client-engagement skills
  • Understand and guide overall workflow, staffing, and integration of all design disciplines
  • Give constructive and timely feedback to team members.
  • Communicate complex ideas with clarity: visually, verbally, graphically, and in writing.
  • Foster collaboration within your team.
  • Care as much about the culture and people you work with as the projects you work on.

 

Responsibilities:   

  • Lead substantial projects, including multi‐floor commercial interior and exterior space, full building adaptive re‐use renovations and occasional new construction
  • Coordinate and contribute to the design effort, and ensure rigorous adherence of design goals throughout the project.
  • Be the primary day-to-day contact with the client
  • Be the primary high-level contact to consultants.
  • Coordinate workflow and efforts across multiple in‐house disciplines including strategy, branding, and graphic design, for the delivery of fully‐integrated projects.
  • Manage project budget and schedules.
  • Coordinate permitting.
  • Manage high level interface with contractors from initial pricing and bidding, through construction completion

 

Qualifications: 

  • Work examples that demonstrate a sophisticated design sensibility and experience in all phases of architectural projects.
  • Minimum 10 years’ relevant experience (post‐grad) including substantial experience managing large projects, with demanding clients and schedules, and large consultant teams
  • Expertise with Revit and Adobe Creative Suite. Proficiency in other 3-d modeling programs is a plus.
  • Experience with managing project budget and schedules.
  • Comfort with multi‐tasking and collaboration within the context of fast‐paced projects
  • Deep knowledge of architectural practice and construction in general
  • Professional architectural degree from an accredited institution
  • Excellent English language communication and client facing‐skills
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States, without need for employee sponsorship
